le magreen band

Le Magreen was founded back in 1989 by Peppino Adamo, Alberto “Pippo” Filippin and Giorgio “Pez” Milanesi. The idea of the band name came from the lead guitarist Pippo who felt like dedicating this project to a girl called Paola Magrini, Le Magreen derives from her name. This way she got not only dedicated a song, but a whole band name!

From 1989 onwards the band plays in the following formation:

Peppino Adamo – Bass & Vocals
Alberto „Pippo“ Filippin - Guitar & Vocals
Giorgio “
Pez” Milanesi – Drums

Since 2005 ( The Rebel Devil Tour) the band plays in the following formation:

Peppino Adamo – Bass & Vocals
Alberto „Pippo“ Filippin - Guitar & Vocals
Roland Egger – Drums & Vocals

The band plays very original and unconventional versions of well-known tracks from the 60ies and 70ies. Rock n roll played loud enough dictates the style of this threesome that has been touring tirelessly in local pubs, big biker conventions and open air festivals in the country and across the border.
The year 1992 brought a new addition to the band. The drummer Klaus “Bisi” Bisignano joined Le Magreen as percussionist but left the formation after only one year. A couple of seasons later, the band adopted the keyboarder Umberto “Umba John Lord” Bertolani that happened to leave Le Magreen right before the recording of the first cd “…spectraphysix 700”!

In 2001 Le Magreen decided to hit the studio in order to record 9 tracks. This moment signed the time when the guys dared recording 3 original song for the first time: Automobile, Kratere and 700 Guitars.
The feedback from this record was that incredibly positive that Peppino Adamo decided to waste no longer time and started writing songs for the next album. As soon as there was enough rough material ready, Peppino Adamo and the guitarist Pippo started the long lasting arrangements of the songs. 2004 was the year where the recordings of the new album started.

The final result of all the efforts is the loud and proud 16 track record “Rebel Devil”! The whole lot has been produced and mixed by Peppino Adamo himself, the final touch has been given by the producing legend Ed Littman from New York who was able to add the typical 70ies sound to the production. Shortly after the conclusion of this long lasting production, the drummer Giorgio “Pez” Milanesi sadly leaves the band and this after a 16 year lasting cooperation. This howling vacancy has been filled by a great and internationally known drummer and singer Roland Egger. rebel devil
