RECENT RELEASE: REBEL DEVIL
---------------------
|
The record kicks off with a sound that seems to come straight from the wildest times back in the 70ies. This threesome reaches here its highest degree of efficiency and convinces through an amazing knowledge of the instruments and provocative vocals. Peppino Adamo, Pippo Filippin and Pez Milanesi know all too well what it takes to create an explosive and catching sound! What Le Magreen provides with this new cd is fireworks. “Rebel Devil” is a remarkable, truly powerful and energetic record that does not lose its intensity throughout the 16 tracks. |
| To be presented by this well-known band from Val Pusteria are mainly original songs which are not less convincing and captivating than the few recorded covers. 14 tracks out of the 16 are in fact original and none of them fail to impress. The clear, classical song writing has been spiced up by unexpected and catching twists. A proper fix of psychedelic-rock makes the whole project even more enthralling and contagious. Juicy and powerful blues-rock from the start, at times with more rock riffs and at times you will be carried by rhythm & blues. |

The guitar solos are amazingly instinctive but never fail to come back to serve the acual purpose of the song, never drifting off too far. You will get caught by the sincerely distinctive and profound bass sound by Peppino Adamo, the lead guitar played by Pippo Filippin sounds dirty and aggressive, at times flavoured by the obligatory wah wah. All carried by the sharp and spectra physical drums by Pez Milanesi. The rock ballad “Times they may pass” proves that the threesome convinces as well on the slow and intense tracks.

Besides 20 pads by Pippo Filippin and the 2 cover songs “riders on the storm” and “ticket to ride”, all the other 16 songs have been written and arranged by the bass player Peppino Adamo, and all of the tracks have one important thing in common: they are due to be remembered! Even romantic souls will not be disappointed by the record that does not fail to show plenty of profoundness. Le Magreen sounds honest, these guys know their business, all the songs are dynamic and contain a handful of rock stomping tunes that have a serious potential to set smoky pubs on fire. The 16 tracks will be taking you on a time journey and will introduce youngsters to this music so much influenced by the flower-power period. |
Just like in the 70ies but with the power of modern production. The cd “Rebel Devil” arouse the desire to hear more and more. Not to be missed is a live performance when the public does not allow the band off the stage. Yes, when these guys play a smoky venue, their bodies covered in sweat, it is to show the town how to rock…with passion!
